Demian Pictures is proud to be a part of The Cannes Film Festival, market of film this year, with a teaser of its upcoming TV pilot The Sacrificial Lamb. The pilot, which was recently shot in Connecticut and New York City, is in the final editing stage, and is planned to be completed during the Summer for a Fall 2011 release. With The Sacrificial Lamb, Demian Pictures will launch its first of many TV episodes planned for the U.S. market.
Demian Pictures was founded in 2007 by Jonathan Bucari, originally a Paris based film scriptwriter, director & producer, who has produced a variety of independent films, and whose company is now based in New York. Mr. Bucari wrote the screenplay for The Sacrificial Lamb, and co-directed the film with Harry Bozino, whose work is also being featured at the festival for his previous film The Old Supremacy. The Sacrificial Lamb, or what we call TSL, is a work of pure joy for me. I have searched a long time for the perfect location. I asked a real estate agency to find me a beautiful, amazing house. My script needed to be improved because of this location, said Bucari, who called the filming magic and the house impressive.
TSL features Gabriel Rush (Brewster, NY) and Ryan Jones (Darien, CT) as its two main child actors. Gabriel Rush is currently filming with Bruce Willis in Moonrise Kingdom directed by Wes Anderson. Gabriel recently came off the Broadway musical Billy Elliot where he received rave reviews for his role as Michael It was an honor to star in this film, Jonathan is a great director, and it was a lot of fun! said Gabriel.
The TSL story is centered around a seasoned FBI special agent, who takes revenge on a senator by accusing a young FBI agent of being an accomplice in the attempt to kidnap the senators sons Gabriel and Ryan. It is as suspenseful as it is full of action and twits those who like the riveting tension will not be disappointed.
The film was shot using a Panavision camera and anamorphic lenses and processed by Deluxe, a combination that is typically reserved for movies and not TV pilot. For a pilot this is very expensive and a huge risk. We’re creating a very cinematic look for a TV pilot, he said. “We may have gorgeous equipment but you have to have something to film,” said Bucari, who believes he captured something magical in the performances from the actors.

Book “White Sleeper” By Bioterrorism Expert David R Fett and Hollywood Writer Stephen Langford Is Frightening Tale of Bioterrorism Attacks Following Death of Bin Laden

Osama bin Laden may be gone, but threats of terrorist attacks on the United States still remain a frightening possibility. Among the scariest scenarios is an attack using toxic biological agents, which could cause untold number of deaths throughout this country.
Thats the unsettling premise that drives the new bioterrorist thriller White Sleeper by David R. Fett and Stephen Langford, which has been published to critical acclaim by Synergy Books. Fett, a Los Angeles-based ophthalmologist and bioterrorism expert, and Langford, a screenwriter and producer, are longtime friends who teamed up to write a story that combines the threat of a homegrown terrorist linking up with foreign terrorists who wreak biological havoc on the United States, each with their own reasons.
When Arkansas experiences a wave of rare, fatal diseases, the CDC calls in Dave Richards, a doctor with a shady past, to investigate. Richards sees this as an opportunity to clear his reputation and save his career. He joins with FBI agent Paula Mushari to investigate the seeming plague. When they think theyve found the person responsible for the bioterrorism, the find themselves drawn deeper into a sinister pact between a white supremacist and a vengeful terrorist sect, each bent on causing mass destruction on the American populace. Richards and Mushari must race against the clock and their own personal issues to prevent a catastrophic plague from breaking out.
White Sleeper is Fetts first published book, although he has published many articles in his field. Ive always had an interest in toxicology, says Fett, who holds a graduate degree in toxicology from MIT. I thought for some time about writing a non-fiction book on bioterrorism. I told Steve about my idea and he suggested collaborating with him on a novel.
Fett did extensive research on biological agents and bioterrorism, and he and Langford began to meet weekly to work out the narrative and characters for White Sleeper. The title, Fett notes, springs from the concept of a Caucasian homegrown terrorist joining with a foreign terrorist sleeper cell, like a cross between Timothy McVeigh and Al Qaeda.
Fetts main reasons for writing White Sleeper were entertainment and education, he says. “The thriller part is to make people wake up. People need to be vigilant, act together, and open themselves up to the world at large. We need to protect the whole world from homegrown and foreign terrorists.
Both Fett and Langford are fans of the biological terror novels of Michael Crichton (The Andromeda Strain) and Robin Cook (Coma), so it was natural for them to conceive a novel in a similar vein, Fett says. In one respect, then, White Sleeper is a tribute to those writers.
The authors have also written a screenplay based on White Sleeper, but, Langford says, right now, were just trying to get the book out to the public.

About the Authors
Dr. David Fett is an ophthalmic plastic surgeon specializing in reconstructive and cosmetic surgery around the eye, such as removing skin cancers around the eye, fixing children born with drooped lids, accidents, etc. He holds a BS degree in applied biochemistry, an MS degree in toxicology from MIT and received his MD from Dartmouth Medical School. Fett has published numerous articles on medical topics; White Sleeper is his first work of fiction. He lives in the Los Angeles area with his family.
Stephen Langford is a TV and movie writer and producer of more than 150 hours of prime time television. His credits include Family Matters, Malcolm and Eddie, and the movie Lovewrecked, for which he was screenwriter.
